01.06.2004 Pop Idol will return for third series |
|
DJ Neil Fox has said Pop Idol will be back for a third series - and he and Simon Cowell will be judging.
He also said Nikki Chapman and Pete Waterman will return to the show.
"It's a great show so I'm very excited about it. It's great because I get to sit with my mates and have a laugh. You really do get to see some bad acts, it's hilarious," he said.
The Daily Star says ITV bosses had feared the show wouldn't continue after the career of 2003 winner, Michelle McManus failed to take off.
It's not known whether or not Ant and Dec will front the show, as the paper says they're bored with the plans.
Fox said he hoped the next series would find a more successful Pop Idol, adding: "We need another one like Will Young."
Fox himself has signed a deal to present six shows on ITV over the next 18 months. One is a karaoke Pop Idol-type show called No Talent Required, and another is a show similar to It'll Be Alright On The Night. Source: Ananova
