The cover artwork was created by Michal "Xaay" Loranc, whom NILE guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders had previously worked with on his second solo album, "Saurian Exorcisms".

2008-10-28 | Cannibal Corpse studio report | Hello everyone, Alex from Cannibal Corpse here checking in again from Mana Studios in St. Petersburg Florida. The last time you heard from us Paul had just finished the drum tracking, and we've made a lot of progress since then. Here's a brief rundown:
The rhythm guitar recording was the next part of the session. We spent a lot of time on it, both on attaining a crushing sound, and also on achieving airtight performances. The tracking was a lot of hard work for Pat and Rob, but the end result was well worth the effort. They did an amazing job and I think you'll all be impressed with the results.
Next up was the bass tracking, and again we worked hard to get a great sound and great performances. Producer Erik Rutan oversaw the tracking and made sure he got the best performance I was capable of, just as he did with Rob and Pat on the rhythm guitar. I can say for sure that the bass and rhythm guitar have never been tighter on any Cannibal Corpse album.
Currently, George is working on tracking the vocals, and he is a little over halfway done. He's had a few parts to sing that were unbelievably fast, but so far he's been more than up to the task. His voice is sounding brutal and holding up well, so we should be done tracking the vocals in the next few days. Pat has already started working on guitar solos as well, but the majority of the solos will be recorded after the vocals are complete.
So, that's about it for now. We are all extremely excited with how this album is shaping up. We wanted to make an ultra heavy and precise album, and so far that's the way it's been going. Next up is the mix, and we're confident Erik will make this the heaviest sounding Cannibal Corpse album yet. Check back for a final update when the mix is complete. Source: MetalBlade |
2007-12-06 | Hate Eternal announces new album title and track listing! | Tampa, FL’s very own Hate Eternal is back with the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2005 release I, Monarch, titled "Fury and Flames". This album will be the bands most diverse and emotionally fueled record to date due mainly in part to the passing of bassist and good friend Jared Anderson.
Hate Eternal founder and vocalist/guitarist Erik Rutan recently did an interview with MTVnews.com where he stated, “Jared was one of my best friends, and his passing away really affected me and influenced this record a lot. It's a very dark and heavy record — not just heavy as in 'heavy metal,' but heavy-hearted as well." Go HERE to read the full article.
"Fury and Flames" will feature cover art by Paul Romano (Mastodon, Animosity, Red Chord) and features the addition of new members Shaune Kelley as second guitarist and Jade Simonetto on drums. The addition of second guitarist Shaune means that this will be the first time Hate Eternal will be able to perform as a four piece live. Something fans will be able to experience on the first tour for "Fury and Flames" when the band heads out with label-mates Black Dahlia Murder. Alex Webster of Cannibal Corpse fame stepped in on bass for the recording, but due to his insane schedule with Cannibal will not be able to tour with the band.
"Fury and Flames" will be in stores and online everywhere on February 19th 2008.

2007-01-11 | Arsis - sign with Nuclear Blast! | When it comes to seminal death metal bands from North America, the East Coast alone can boast the likes of the genre's greatest staples such as Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, Death, Morbid Angel, and Nile. With West Virginia's legacy of being the only state formed as a direct result of the American Civil War, it's no wonder that Arsis have continued this tide of insurgence - albeit in the musical realm. The band, which derived its name from the musical phrase "arsis and thesis" meaning unstressed (up-) and stressed (down-) beats respectively, is righteously tinged with black & thrash metal influences but is completely dedicated to expanding the reaches of melodicism and technicality in the genre of death metal.
Checking-in from their current tour with God Forbid, Mnemic, and Goatwhore, founding member/guitarist/bassist/lead vocalist and former Berklee College of Music student James Malone has this to say about the newly-inked worldwide collaboration with Nuclear Blast Records:
"Since the conception of ARSIS, I hoped to see the band as a part of the Nuclear Blast roster. Four years later, this is now a reality. I expect great things this coming year; the band is now a four piece, solid tours are on the way, and we have a fantastic label behind us 100%. I am more excited now about the potential of the band than I have ever been."
All of the ARSIS recordings (which include two demos, one EP, and two full-length albums) have won them many fans among the metal underground, the metal press, and metal musicians themselves. Their 2004 debut, A Celebration Of Guilt, was praised to hell and back by Revolver Magazine as "the best in the genre since At The Gates' legendary swan song [Slaughter Of The Soul]."
Given their current momentum in support of their latest album, United In Regret, and with, as Malone states, "our most brutal release coming in 2008," ARSIS are well on their way to making their discography absolutely essential for any fan with an extreme music library. Source: NuclearBlast |
